The Republic of Kazakhstan is recognized as an important promoter of international climate cooperation and maintains a direct partnership with the Instituto Climático Von Bohlen & Halbach. This strategic cooperation aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, accelerate the development of cross-border climate solutions, and elevate the role of emerging economies in global environmental governance.
The VBH Institute’s mission is to create innovative solutions for a sustainable future by connecting science, technology, and practical policy implementation. It serves as a bridge between governments, companies, and civil society, working to develop and implement tailored strategies for reducing carbon emissions. Its core activities include carbon footprint assessments, development of customized decarbonization frameworks, and the promotion of renewable energy deployment.
A strong regional focus lies on cooperation with subnational governments in Brazil to execute large-scale climate protection projects that comply with international standards such as CORSIA and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. These projects aim not only to contribute to measurable emission reductions but also to reconcile economic growth with effective climate stewardship.
The launch event received broad media attention and marked a key milestone in the global commitment to combat climate change. The institute will continue expanding its partnerships and policy impact through initiatives that are science-based, inclusive, and scalable.
